"How much is this going to cost me?" Initially, this is the most important issue for our clients. During your free consultation, attorneys fees will be discussed.  Every case is different, thus requiring different levels of expertise. Fees are based on the following: 

•  Whether you have been charged on the State level with a Misdemeanor or Felony
•  Whether you have been charged Federally
•  The stage the case is currently in when you retain our services
•  The amount of work you are expecting on the case

Fees are collected on a 'flat-fee' basis, which means you will pay one fee for any and all services that we provide.  Most attorneys charge you more than your agreed-upon fee for any additional time you may require, claiming it was unaccounted for upon your initial visit. Examples of what other attorneys may charge you additionally for include:  additional appearances in court on your case *, multiple meetings with you or telephone calls from you, and/or other witnesses in the case. We will not charge additional fees for these services and provide you with unlimited access to the staff, and more importantly, to Ms. Hedlund herself.  At the end of your free consultation, you will know exactly how much you are expected to pay, giving you peace of mind of what you'll be receiving in return.

Our fees are competitive. Be wary of paying the "cheapest attorney in town". As the old adage goes,  "You get what you pay for." Paying for a better lawyer like Ms. Hedlund upfront will actually SAVE you money in the long run. This most often happens by a client receiving lower fines, a reduction in the initial charge, a shortened probation sentence, a possible dismissal, or not guilty verdicts.

*Your initial fee will retain Ms. Hedlund to handle all court appearances, any motion hearings (other than motions to suppress), etc. Additional costs will occur if your case is set for trial or other major contested hearings.  If experts or investigators are hired, the client will pay for those services on top of the legal fees.
