In any career, education is important, but experience is essential, and that includes life experience as well. Dawn Hedlund grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1994 she graduated from the University of New Mexico double-majoring in Criminology and Spanish. Ms. Hedlund did not go to law school right after college but worked as a flight attendant instead. Through that service industry Ms. Hedlund honed valuable skills working with the public, which has proved beneficial in her law career.
Some attorneys are hired simply for the length of time they have been licensed. However, simply hiring an attorney based on that credential only is not good enough! An attorney-client relationship should be just that! Experience is nothing if you are not able to relate to the client whom you represent. Having been more than just an attorney, Ms. Hedlund has the ability to empathize with her clients, which is so often overlooked by attorneys rushing to get a case disposed. She will work hard to prepare a zealous and winning defense for you or negotiate the best plea agreement, depending on the facts of your case. As a former prosecutor, Ms. Hedlund has a valued insight into how the other side thinks and prepares with the facts of your case. Let her experience go to work for you!
